Camp, Need God

I’m in Indiana. I’m in a little room all day practicing, which is nice, because I have a lot of time to practice and pray. There are a lot of different people here. Some are very weird, some are very talented, and some are very loud and arrogant. It comes with the territory. I met two nice kids though. They are the youngest at the camp, very talented and humble students. Although they exhibit a significant capacity for playing music, they are still very honest and simplistic in their speech. They tell me about their weird school teachers and strange people at their schools. They use funny words. It’s fascinating.

Isn’t it amazing that the Holy spirit lives in Christians, teaching and growing them? As I’m learning just a little more about the Bible it’s really moving to see how precious God is. It’s when you are in severe, desperate spiritual need – that’s when you really realize how dead you were and still are without knowing God through Jesus Christ. Knowing God is so good. His word is so good. How I can I be care-free in humility? How can I obey his will of command and trust in his sovereign workings? How can I have love, discernment, trust, joy, hope, comfort, rest, hate for sin and ___? I really need God for everything. How awful and prideful self-sufficiency is, yet we do it every day.

Thank You for grace.

“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3

I like that one.

“For the word of God is living and active…and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart”
